The blade of a double edged sword is ultimately the invitation to heaven delivered in a blazing envelope. Life can be unforgiving. For Nicolette Winslow, deciphering her reflection from her reality required an undertaking of hardcore truth telling...... unraveling years of denial and personal deception.

Universally plagued by the desire to be valued and loved, the book navigates across the generational divide to reach both the young girl growing into her sexuality and the grown woman who has evolved into her own sensuality.  expressed in third person narrative, nicolettes demons take decades to awaken her inner spirit.

Love is an emotion and marriage is a contract.  Logically speaking, one should never enter into a contract under emotional influences, sifting through a fog that temporarily impairs the thought process and ability to reason.  It is a great departure from the theory of fabled romance, but then again, all great documented loves were short-lived, ending in eventual demise. The decennium delves into the theory of marriage as a contractual enterprise, with both parties holding court at the time of renegotiation.

It's a constant battle of the sexes. They say that men are from mars and women are from venus - referencing the dichotomies of the two magnetic fields. We are foreign beings at best. But what if we embraced our opposing planet? What if we jumped ship to mars where we’d weigh a third of our human weight and aged at half the pace. What if we lived in a society where we didn’t place an emphasis on such visual perfection and viewed ourselves as men do – opting for the more leisurely, laid back atmosphere.

Sometimes things are not what they seem.  Appearance versus reality – what looks to be the enviable life of a young medical research grad about to embark on a year hiking in the Old World region of Europe turns tumultuous when a near fatal accident leaves Ben Shummers life with an excess of mental inconsistencies, leaving him questioning the logic and pure mathematics of the surreal aftermath.  All belief in common sense and science should prevail, but upon closer scrutiny of the individuals emerging in and around his life, he is mercilessly driven into the contradictions and absurdity of his own denial. With Ben’s relationships already in jeopardy, he’s met with improbable situations and implausible characters that exist independently of his senses, leaving him to establish what’s tangible and what’s not.

The heavily forested Kentucky landscape is filled with an air of peace and tranquility, its flowering dogwood and mature oaks creating a visually pristine backdrop. For Abigail Emerson, the fog lifting off the river created a smokescreen to the rising sun, letting in just enough light to illuminate her senses and mask the isolation.

it was as magnificent a view from the aircraft window as it was from the foothills below. clouds that once morphed into fantastical objects  were now a passageway to freedom. It might have been her father’s influence of fight or flight, or her mother’s desire to do so, but She took little with her in anticipation of her arrival. She had no job, no accommodations, and no circle of friends – no experience or knowledge of what it would take to survive in a place she ultimately created to fill a void. She'd do anything to accomodate her deepest primal desires - and What transpires is volatile and impulsive and changes the landscape forever.
